Without our incredible staff and trustees, the success of the Sankaty Head Foundation would not be possible. These are just a few of the many valuable players behind the scenes, making sure our program runs smoothly summer after summer.

Dave Hinman

Program Director

Dave was appointed the Director of the Sankaty Head Caddie Program in 2013. He has been in education for over thirty years. He currently works at the St. Sebastian’s School in Needham, MA, where he serves as the Coordinator of Wellness, teaches mathematics, works in admissions, and coaches basketball and golf. Prior to moving to Needham, he spent 14 years working at the Taft School. Dave previously served as the Director of Athletics at both St. Sebastian’s and Taft.

Danny Murphy

Assistant Director

Danny was appointed as Assistant Director of the Sankaty Head Caddie Program in 2025. Danny is a longtime independent secondary boarding school educator. He currently serves as the Associate Dean of Faculty, teaches, coaches, and advises at St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH.

Mike Waller

Medical Coordinator

Mike serves as the Medical Coordinator of the Sankaty Head Caddie Program. During the school year, Mike works as an athletic trainer at Pomfret School. Mike has also served as an athletic trainer at Rumsey Hall School in Washington, CT and at the University of New Mexico. He is a certified and licensed athletic trainer and is also certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED.

Trevor McLean

Program Coordinator

Trevor works as the Program Coordinator for the Sankaty Head Caddie Program. During the school year, he serves as an Associate Director of Admissions at the St. Sebastian’s School. In addition to his admissions responsibilities, he teaches geography, coaches basketball and is a student advisor. Trevor recently earned an M.Ed. in Independent School Leadership from Vanderbilt University.

Tiani Beauchamp

Head Chef

Tiani became the Head Chef in 2019. Tiani has worked in various culinary settings and has always had a deep love for teaching children about the joys of good food, eclectic tastes, and the beauty of cooking.

Ellen Hinman

Director of College Counseling

Ellen is an independent school educator with more than 25 years of experience as a teacher and administrator. She currently serves as Director of College Counseling at St. Sebastian’s School. Ellen has spent her summers at Sankaty Head Caddie Program with Dave and her family since 2013 and added college counseling responsibilities in 2021. She loves getting to know the caddies in this new way and especially enjoys supporting our Evans candidates through the application process.

A Note From Our Program Director

Director of Athletics, Mathematics Teacher, and Basketball Coach at St. Sebastian's School in Needham, MA

The Sankaty Head Caddie Program is a place where lifelong friends are made, boys become young men, and future leaders get their start.

Throughout each summer, there are countless opportunities for caddies to expand their horizons and prepare for their academic and professional futures. They’ll not only learn the technical aspects of caddying, but will also gain a strong sense of personal responsibility. Relationships with other caddies, staff, and club members create a foundation for important lessons about respect, pride, work ethic, and other essential components of becoming productive citizens both in our program and beyond.
